Swimsuit is a must have in the wardrobe for all the women in summer. But it’s not so easy to choose the right one – because it reveals all the sides of the figure, makes it visible to others.

My colleagues at the Italian School chose for you the perfect swimwear for each body type.

Apple figure type

ree

You have a little tummy, a large breast, but slim hips, legs and arms.

The ideal swimsuit is a one-piece black model with an accent on the top part of the figure – lace, neckline, contrasting color above.

You should not choose a bikini.

ree

ree

Hourglass body type

ree

Your figure is proportional, a waist, a breast and hips are well accentuated.

You can choose absolutely any swimsuit. Best of all you will look in a retro style, this model will make an accent on the beautiful shapes. The second very trendy variant this summer – a one-piece swimsuit with a belt.

ree

ree

You have a slim figure, but the waist is not accentuated well; your task is to create a volume in the breast and hips area so that the waist line appears.

The best variant here is a separate swimsuit with details on shorts or bust (lace, laces, reaped material). The idea is that you add volume to your chest and hips and thus visually create a waistline. The bottom should be at the hips, not at the waist.

If you want a one-piece swimsuit you should choose the model with diagonal lines, a node that is fixed in the middle of the figure.

ree

ree

Pear figure type

ree

In your figure the hips are wider than the shoulders. Your task is to hide the disproportions here.

Your perfect swimsuit is the model with high panties in retro style. The top of the swimsuit can be of any shape. It is better if it is bright in color, and panties are black.

The second choice is the dark-coloured one-piece swimsuit with a low-cut neckline as in the photo.

ree

ree

Inverted triangle figure

ree

In your figure the shoulders are wider than the hips (the figure of a swimmer).

You should choose the trend of the recent years – a separate swimsuit with parts different in colour.

Choose panties with an unusual print, patterns, bright colours, and the top of the swimsuit – monochrome, better – dark. So you catch attention to the bottom part.

The second choice is a swimsuit with ordinary panties, but with a top of American cut which narrows the line of the shoulders.

Panties it’s always better to choose with ties which will visually add volume to the hips.

ree

ree

Oval figure type

ree

You have a plump figure, but proportional (full waist, chest, hips, arms and legs).

Your perfect swimsuit is one-piece black model. Or the variant with a skirt or flared top.

When you are on the beach, we recommend wearing a pareo or a transparent black dress. Add a hat with a wide brim and unusual sunglasses. So you will shift the focus from the figure to the unusual accents in the image.

A bikini is not for you.

Many people think that the work of a personal stylist is something inaccessible: only someone who is friends with celebrities or dresses in expensive clothes by Prada can use a stylist, only a city girl who constantly goes to glamorous parties can use an image consultant, etc.

I asked the Italian stylists who are colleagues of mine at the Italian Fashion school to tell us about the myths of the stylist profession and find out what is true and what is false.

Myth 1: Image stylists only work with celebrities

– Not true

It used to be like that. Stylists were hired by famous people to create the image and wardrobe.

Today, stylists help to a greater extent to choose a wardrobe, do shopping support and conduct image consultations for absolutely ordinary people.

Of course, behind every famous person who walks the red carpet, there is usually a large team of professionals: a make-up artist, a hairdresser, a manicurist and, of course, a stylist.

But personal stylists aren’t just for the rich and famous, and they’re hired for more than just high-profile events.

Clients can include teachers, students, housewives, executives, lawyers, doctors, and ordinary office workers. Everyone has one goal: to look and feel confident in what they wear and what they present to the world.

Many people lead very busy lives and don’t have time to shop for themselves or create outfits for every day, most of them don’t even know where to start. And there are some people who are completely devastated by their wardrobe and/or lack of style.

Myth 2: Everyone wears only expensive, designer items.

Stylists learn how to create fashionable and unusual looks from different things, even if these clothes are from second-hand or mass brands like H&M. This is where the stylist’s fashion mastery is manifested.

Myth 3: The stylist spends time at parties, dinners and fashion events.

– It’s both true and false

Fashion figures often appear on social media, posting all the fun events they attend on Instagram, but that’s just a small part of the job.

The stylists also visit clothing stores, meet with clients and give master classes. There are stylists who work on fashion shoots and in clothing boutiques.

And there are stylists who generally work only from home and make online image consultations and online shopping.

And by the way, all stylists spend a third of their time watching fashion shows, scrolling photos of famous bloggers on Instagram, branded items, etc. in order to train their taste and fashion observation.

Myth 4: A stylist comes to a client and immediately makes a complete transformation of a person.

– Not true

You may remember a dramatic moment of makeover shown in every pop culture reference to a stereotypical fashion person, but in real life stylists don’t want to change everyone to our definition of “style.”

Plus, working in fashion doesn’t mean you are personal stylists and consultants for your friends and family – after all, we live in an era of personal style and individualism 🙂

5 myth: If you have taste, you are automatically considered to be a stylist

– Not true

Yes, following fashion is part of the job, but you also need to feel passionate about fashion and be able to work with a diverse range of people.

You also need knowledge and skills on how to combine colors in clothes, how to choose the best color palettes, how to choose a wardrobe for different types of figures, how to create a style, how to do shopping, etc.
